How CableCar started their web page design journey
Who are you known as?
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
LendingKarma provides an online service that helps people that know one another (friends, family, small businesses) lend and borrow money with one another. The service helps them to create a custom loan agreement, allows them to setup email payment reminders, and allows for tracking of repayment.
We'll revamp this page with whatever the new homepage design is but sharing for content purposes.
We recently had banner ads designed on 99designs and we really like the L&F of them and wouldn't mind seeing the design reflect them in some fashion. You can see them on our affiliates page: http://www.lendingkarma.com/affiliate-program
http://www.zendesk.com/ - Love their logo and would love some sort of "zen" like theme whether or not it's potentially a background image or something. Would even be open to improving LendingKarma's existing logo in this redesign.
The homepage needs redesigned and we're open to the logo being refreshed or even changed with the right design. The main goal of the homepage is to communicate what we offer in a concise, trustworthy, and stylish manner. There should also be a strong call to action as well which is probably the same get started form that's on the homepage today whether it's on the page or in a popup that's shown as a result of clicking on a CTA button. We'll provide examples of other pages that we like. Stock photos are "OK" to use on the homepage but only sparingly. We've attached two of ours. Don't feel the need to use them though. We'd like to highlight screenshots of the product more than use stock photos and can provide more if required.
The loan overview page. Once a loan has been created this page is where the majority of time is spent. We'd like to create a consistent L&F between the homepage and the rest of the application pages and this page is probably the best one to tackle after the homepage. We have provided example screenshots of this page or you can see for yourself by creating a loan on our site.
In general we'd like to see some creative designs on revamping the structure of these pages to help better communicate to users what we do (on the homepage) and how to use the product (the loan overview page and others not shown here)
We really want to create an image of trust, authority, and mindfulness. Many folks tell us they like us because when they return and see things like the slogan "what goes around comes around" it reminds them that they're doing something good for a friend of family member. More than anything we'd like to capture that energy and present ourselves as promoting win-win loans and what we have started calling "enlightened loans" or that our service is the "enlightened way to lend money to people you know"
We generally need reusable styles for containers, buttons, and form items. The demographics of the audience are pretty evenly male/female with a slightly male bias, college educated, 100K+ income
Competing sites include:
http://www.loanback.com - Does a good job on some things. The video is good, the benefits overview is good. The prominent navigation of important things at the top. But overall the design is poor. It's busy, overwhelming, and just not aesthetically pleasing.
http://www.lendfriend.me - Again they have a couple of good things but the design doesn't look professional or sharp. It's too much in terms of rounded corners and color palette.
http://www.zimplemoney.com - The biggest problem here is that it's confusing and it's not clear what they do or offer, but.. the breakdown of various usages is good and something we'd like to incorporate as well.
