shawnconvery got their new web page design by running a design contest:
Next generation online software platform needs a new website
Check out shawnconvery's Web page design contest…
Rizer is a smartly designed online system that helps business find, market, sell, support and manage customers over the long-term. Our Vision: Help companies win and manage their customers better in order to grow faster and get bigger. Our Goal: Grow your business by improving the way you operate at every level of the customer relationship. What we do: Smartly designed to just work for you - you don’t need to think… It’s ready to use out of the box. It’s collaborative - everyone in the company works better together. We give the best way of running your business.. Rizer enables a few people to work like many - letting people be more productive. Rizer interlinks people, automates repetitive tasks, and tracks performance. The product is going to be a CRM system. Our goal is to streamline customer interaction by helping our customers implement a more structured sales model that splits the teams into small dedicated roles and build better analytical reports - so using this approach makes it easier to track and analyze results. Main competitors would be pipedrive.com, getbase.com, close.io, HubSpot.
Think of the design taking into account that each page has to work both on desktop and mobile. So each element has to look good on a big screen but also on mobile once resized and repositioned. We would like something clean and simple with emphasis on the product images/videos and calls to action. (This does not mean no text - it means, the layout has to be clean and readable - not cluttered, should not feel messy) The website should probably not use more than 2 colors and maybe one more for accent (call to actions). We are open for more colors if it keeps the cleanness and simplicity. Ideally, the colors should be taken from the logo or be variations of the colors from the logo. We prefer a white background as much as possible. If boxes are used we would like a slight round corner on it.
PLEASE do one page at a time so we can agree on a style before continuing. This would give us a chance to provide feedback and save time for everyone. The homepage We would like a hero section with text a call to action and a video showing off the product. The headline for the hero could be: "The analytical CRM" The text for the hero could be: "Rizer streamlines sales and helps you build a stronger customer relationship" The call to action could be: "Get a demo today!" Underneath this, we would like section talking about each main feature of the product. We are going to list 4 main features following a structure of text, subtitle, description link. An example would be: "High-velocity sales model High-Velocity Sales is an inside sales model that will accelerate your revenue. It involves the utilization of specialized teams. The user management inside the rizer system compared to others lets you set specific functions for each member of your team." Also, we should have a “testimonial section”. The order of these might change over time so keep that in mind. The product features list page (see freshdesk.com from the example list) This will be a page listing all the features of the product. It will be grouped in main sections. Each section will have subsection each with a small title and maybe one sentence of text. The objective of this page is to act as a “contents” page for everything related to the product and a first step towards the other “product individual feature pages” described below. Here images are not mandatory but if they look good we don’t mind. The product individual feature page (see odoo.com in the example list) We would need a hero section with text, a call to action and a video. Below this, we would need section talking in detail about the product. Each section would have a picture and text. At the bottom, we would like a smaller call to action section designed different and not as emphasized as the main one. This section will be broken down into smaller sections (each talking about one function of the software) that we will discuss. Example: Lead management, customer management, task management, website forms. For both of the above pages: “product features list page” & “product individual feature page” we need a “smart” way to integrate this in either the main menu system or a tab system inside the product page. Pricing page In terms of elements, the pricing page should have one box with the price & a call to action. We have a simple, one price per user option with 3 currencies and monthly and annual plans. A bullet point list of the benefits of choosing us. Below all of this a frequently asked question section related to refunds, payment schedule etc. Blog page This should be a simple 2 column grid layout for the posts with a sidebar. We had questions about the copy for the website. At this point, we can't provide it but for the homepage, you can use the bits of text from the updated brief. For the 2 product pages, in general, we want blocks of content that can be interchangeable. Each should have a title, picture or video and a text description of no more than 120 words each. Some pages might have 3 of these some might have 7 depending on the feature. The design should work independent of the number of them.
What to avoid
We do not like stock images of people or places, or stock images in general. We prefer using screenshots of the application. Try to avoid hand-drawn graphics as much as possible. (if they really make sense we don’t really mind) Do not use icons for anything.
Logo attached. The footer should have 3 columns of links to different pages on the website. It would be nice if in the empty space on the right you could integrate a call to action (to maybe the “get a demo” page). In the main menu, you should have two buttons: a login and a signup button. You should find a way to emphasize these and make them stand out. In the places, you would like to add videos or product pictures just add a white box that represents it.
