Ace Clutch aceclutch.com
A former coworker and myself had been doing coding work for close to a year. I've been playing video games competitively since my mid-teens, and had a chance to get to know very well the inner workings of a very specific competitive community. The goal of this project is to build a website that will fill a void in news articles for an audience of roughly 5,000-10,000 and expand to more games as the opportunities arise.
Three of us are working in collaboration to make sure that this venture is a success. We are hoping to add a designer to our repertoire, but as this is a VC project, funds are limited and we can't afford to work with a design agency; this design will be our first and only foreseeable expense (coding, advertising, hosting, staff are all covered). Therefore, anyone who is willing to take this payment in full for their design and then an additional stake (tbd) in the project for future smaller projects or manipulations that come up will likely be the winner.
Edit: As a bit of background for anyone interested in working on this project, the name of the project, Ace Clutch, comes from a gaming term that essentially means being the sole remaining member of your team and defeating everyone on the other team, against the odds.
This website will be directed towards professional and semi-professional PC video gamers (4+ hours a day gaming). 18-25 y/o males from varying backgrounds, regions, and classes who play on competitive teams for money and prizes.
We just need the design; we can code.
The website will be a community website: news and rumors (distinct from each other) will be posted in paraphrased blog-format with a comment system.
Aside from the news, the forums and user profiles will be focal points. Making lesser appearances will be downloads, and demos (recordings of played games).
