We are part of an established Online Media Agency that is looking for highly talented and creative blog designers to re-design our various blogs. It's target audience are North Americans, slightly female oriented. The website IS NOT A TRAVEL AGENCY AND DOES NOT FOCUS ON PROVIDING TRAVEL BOOKING SERVICE. It is an INFORMATIONAL BLOG.

(1) Home Page: Consists of the website's logo, 728x90 above the fold banner ad, 300x250 above the fold banner ad and 160x600 banner ad, preferably also above the fold. The homepage should showcase recent and/or featured articles. The homepage needs to have a very good first impression with an attractive design, perhaps using a lot of images/colours to brighten/liven up the website. If using a 2 column approach, the sidebar should be full as it's often a challenge incorporating the 160x600 banner ad without an obvious blank whitespace (e.g., 160x600 banner + something beside it to fit along the 300 width sidebar); also, the main column usually has more content than the sidebar so you need to implement "widgets" to fill the sidebar and give it some substance. (2) Article/Video Page: Similar to above (i.e., logo, 728x90 banner above the fold, 300x250 above the fold) and display main content (article or travel video). Website should be scalable/design friendly for mobile version.

Avoid being a typical WordPress 2 column theme.

Coding experience would be an asset.
