I create real estate Wordpress themes for selling on Themeforest.net (theme marketplace). The target audience is the theme reviewers at Themeforest. So far they are not accepting my design, so I need help to give my theme a "makeover".
The theme reviewer says my theme looks too dated, lacks style, looks too much like a "bootstrap" theme.
HOMEPAGE:
http://informatik.com/themeforest/T…ealEstate/
3 things I prefer to KEEP in the current state of design:
- Listing blocks as fixed square size, and flip over when you click on it
- Search button in top menu bar and expand open when clicked. This keeps search out of the way and compact, yet easily accessible at any time even when scrolled down.
- The "open hours" bit that is clickable to show Mon-Fri hours.
The current design has a large slider with a design element where the right side has an angled background. I ran with that idea and repeated that design element throughout the theme. I like it, and if your design "eye" likes it too, I would like to retain that idea. But if you think it's ugly, I would be open to something better. :)
The rest of the homepage: keep all sections, but make changes to make it look more modern, stylish, etc. (to please theme reviewer)

Make it look modern, stylish, less "bootstrap" looking.
This theme has 2 modes (real estate, and car dealer). Both modes have basically the same parts. Here is example of the car dealer mode: http://informatik.com/themeforest/T…CarDealer/
Real estate mode is shown as "full screen". Car dealer mode is shown as fixed width. Your design must work in both full screen and fixed width.
