We are a company that helps parents find daycare options for their children. We connect daycares and parents together.
Audience is twofold.
We want to target parents with children looking for child care options. We also are looking to target daycares and entice them to signup for the site.
Primarily the design would cater towards parents as they would be using the website however I just want to make sure nothing is on there that would alienate the daycare businesses themselves.
A call to action for parents looking for daycares. This will include a search function. Here is an example:
Parents Find Care For Your Children Now!
Search for (dropdown box with options such as daycare) within (dropdown box for various preset distances (1 mile, 5 miles, 10 miles, etc.) of (box to enter zip code)
Parents can also have care providers contact them. Need a call to action saying something along the lines of "Enter your preferences and have daycares contact you instead."
Then it will say connect me to care providers within (pre-selected distances in miles dropdown) of my address.
#1 and #2 need to SHOW ABOVE THE FOLD and the design needs to be optimized for 1024x768
This could be a banner that shows a popup with the form when it's clicked. I would welcome either design type.
Navigation Bar with the following options
-List Your Daycare
Footer navigation with the following
-Terms and Conditions
-Advertise with us
If possible a banner/button that has a call to action asking daycares to list their business. With the other 2 call to actions there this would only be desired if you could fit it into the design without it getting too busy, otherwise don't worry.
No pictures of parents, I would just want kids and caregivers if you would like. If you put multiple pictures of kids please mix up the ages (from 6 months to about 5 years old) and the ethnicities. I don't want only 1 age and ethnicity represented if there are multiple kid images.
I do not have a particular color scheme in mind but looking for something colorful but not so much that it is distracting or hurts the eyes.
The body will have 4 feeds that will be:
If you look at http://www.demodirectory.com/index.php at the bottom you will see recent reviews and recent articles. That can give you a sense of the amount of space it would take. Anything can be truncated and shrunk but this gives you a starting point at least.
There needs to be space somewhere to the right side for some banner ads that are 180x150 pixels. Make sure there is some space left for a few of these.
No logo currently exists you can just add some font effects to the URL name.
