Peter de Jong ran a web page contest and chose a winning design they loved.
BuyerZone.com is the leading b2b marketplace for business purchases. In order to further improve our customers' experience, we'd like to challenge you to create a user-friendly, intuitive design that will beat the effectiveness of our current landing pages.
Accepted File Formats:
Standard Web Formats (.jpg, .gif or .png); Layered Formats (.psd or .tiff)
BuyerZone.com matches business buyers and suppliers in over 125 product and services categories. Potential Buyers are invited to detail their purchasing needs - after filling out and submitting a simple request for quotation form they are matched with multiple suppliers, who will contact them within two business days. In addition we offer our visitors an alternative route, by leading them to our suppliers' microsites.
Goals of this contest
This contest targets improvement of the entire inquiry process, by redesigning landing pages, question sets, registration and confirmation pages. The product category we've selected for this contest is Credit Card Processing. The current (dummy) page is located here:
We expect you to include all elements of our conversion funnel:
1. The landing page, including the directory listings
2. The question set
3. The registration page
4. The confirmation page
You're allowed to merge the landing page with the subsequent full question set and / or registration page.
The following design principles apply:
> Use all questions, including the ones on the registration page and please don't reword the questions - you are allowed to change the order though
> Please follow our value proposition and keep in mind that our typical ad copy reads as follows:
Credit Card Processing

> Please keep in mind that we're looking for a design that is scalable: if succesful in our user tests the design template should be easy to implement in all of our product and services categories. For an overview, please visit http://www.buyerzone.com
> Please use stock images
> Format: Initial entries can be GIF, JPG, PNG, PDF - as long as they are hi-res enough to see clearly. We'll need the winning design as a PSD
> Please don't stick to the current look and feel - despite the restrictions there is a lot of room for change, including merging the first three pages, changing (the position of) the page marketing copy (headline, taglines), changing the image(s), etc.
> Contenders must be 18 years or olderÂ
> The odds of winning the prize are dependent upon the number of eligible entries received.
> This contest runs between February 12th 2008, 9AM EST and February 22th 9AM EST.
> Within 7 days after the contest is closed BuyerZone will inform the winner(s) of the contest.
> Receipt of prize is subject to entering into BuyerZone's designer contract and submitting a completed Form W-9 or W-8 taxpayer certification form, as applicable.
> Void where prohibited. No purchase necessar. Contest is subject to complete official rules, available at http://www.buyerzone.com/design-con…rules.html
Please feel free to contact Peter de Jong (firstname.lastname@example.org)Â or Joe Charat (email@example.com)Â at BuyerZone if you have questions. BuyerZone will test the winning design(s) against the current landing pages. If the conversion rates would improve, we consider a long term business relation with the designer(s).
