Sallylynne got their new web page design by running a design contest:
Help Potala Designs with a new website design
Check out Sallylynne's Web page design contest…
Imports Tibetan furniture, carpets and home wares for Australian home and business settings.
www.momu.com.au - I like the graphics, use of photos especially the gallery, descriptions of products as 'luxe' flavour your style' www.asiantide.com.au - Again I like the use of photos, simple to browse
The website’s main purpose is to show case the products and inform about new products, recent shipments and events when the products will be on show. Homepage introduces the concept of the business which is to sell Tibetan products that are made traditionally, by Tibetans, that will provide unique colour, focus and design to enhance the Australian home (e.g. living, bedroom, child's room) or business setting (e.g, cafe or reception area) Home page directs browsers to the Products, Gallery, About Potala Designs, News and Information, Contact us It will ask browsers to join our mailing list - Name, email, Join now There will be links to Facebook, Twitter, Blog
I quite like the general look of the website as it was created by my daughter in 2007. The Tibetan photos need to be used differently (or not at all). I would like to keep the colour and the use of the Tibetan apron pattern. I like the typewriter font as well. The website needs to be informative and inspiring. The main method of selling at this stage will be regular (2-3 times per year) 'showings' when I will hire a space for a week and display the products and also showings in my storage area by appointment. I hope eventually to work with interior designers as a supplier.
