Samantha Wayne got their new web page design by running a design contest:

ISKME is an independent, non-profit research institute dedicated to the study, spread, and strategic use of knowledge management in education. www.iskme.org Amidst various research and technical projects, our field building department created Action Collabs, which are dynamic, face-to-face workshops that use the design-thinking framework to innovate new ideas with actionable next step for education. www.iskme.org/services/action-collabs This project is to design a site for the Action Collab Network, which is an online extension of face-to-face Action Collab collaboration. The Action Collab Network is a space for group members to share documents, communicate, and continue thinking and action on their idea.
Company - iskme.org, Event - bigideasfest.org, Another Company Product - oercommons.org
www.openideo.com - it's a similar project except they are crowd-sourcing work on design challenges and ours all start with a face-to-face group that uses the Action Collab Network to continue collaboration. The Action Collab Network, however, is open and outsiders can request to join a work group. Like the clean graphics of openideo. www.plus.google.com - like the expand and collapse elements in discussions. good use of space and clarity in collaborative elements
Please see attached pdf and drawings of page components (design at your discretion) to be included in each page. Overview: Form Page - uses are on pdf and noted with * Home - featured discussion, ISKME messaging, featured member Group Page - discussion, members, instant message, documents/links, ISKME messaging, about this group, my groups, request to join this group, video player, slideshow, share Profile - contact info, documents/links i've shared, my discussion posts, my groups, edit my profile Design Challenge Page (overview) - design challenges and descriptions, action collabs Design Challenge Page (specific)- design challenge and description, share Members - list of members Groups - list of groups
*We require layered psd files. The ideation should be a simple, visual design for the Action Collab Network that encourages people to stay on the site and work together. And is easy for people outside of the work groups to share content they see on the site. Our target audience is people who have participated in face-to-face Action Collabs. The Action Collab Network allows them to stay connect and continue working on the idea that resulted from their face-to-face work. We also want the public to see work happening in the Action Collab Network. It’s an open environment that shares groups’ work as well as publicizes ISKME’s face-to-face Action Collabs, which are available for hire. People who haven’t participated in a face-to-face Action Collab can request to join a group and it is the group’s decision to allow “outsiders” into their collaborative space.
