Header Design for Financially Oriented Community Website

We are in the process of re-designing a website and need to enhance the existing header. We already have a logo which will need to be incorporated into the new header design. The development site can be viewed at http://www2.investorsinsight.com - the header is considered to be everything above the top, horizontal navigation bar.

Accepted File Formats:
Standard Web Formats (.jpg, .gif or .png); Layered Formats (.psd or .tiff)

The new header design must fit with the general theme of the website, must spotlight the existing logo, and must fit within the existing header space. The new design must also accommodate the navigation elements located in the upper right-hand corner of the existing header. The navigation elements and logo are located in DIV layers above the header. As such, we would like to see sample designs which include those elements; however, the final deliverable will simply be the background image.

Otherwise, the designer has a great deal of latitude when creating the overall look and feel of the header. We hope to see something that will help enhance the appearance of the site and help the site standout from the page.

Update 02/06/08: Please do not include pictures of people (including shadow people) in the header designs. We have had a number of entries like this so I wanted to add a clarification to the contest description. Thank you.
