jim.kaczkowskh got their new web page design by running a design contest:
Give new life to a children's school where the sky is the limit
Check out jim.kaczkowskh's Web page design contest…
We are a school for gifted children from age 3-13. Our students have special education needs but go on to flourish. Our parents are high income and highly involved in their children's education. We don't have artificial limits or ceilings on our learning based on a child's age. We enable children to reach heights that aren't possible in conventional schools.
Our website needs to provide serious information but to also convey that Quest Academy is a warm, encouraging, safe and fun place for children to grow up. Our home page needs to speak to first time visitors who are asking "What does Quest Academy offer for MY child? Depending on the age of the child, the parent needs to quickly find out information about our approach to Preschool, or 3rd Grade or 7th Grade
HOMEPAGE The homepage space allocation needs to focus on the following in this order: 1- First time visitors, who are asking "What does Quest Academy offer for MY child? 2- A Quest Academy news well featuring 2-3 top stories 3- A short lead form to have Admissions contact them 4- A Facebook news well that shows 2 most recent Facebook posts 5- A short definition of Gifted Education The primary navigation for the site will be - About Us - The Quest Experience - Student Life - Our Campus - Alumni In Action - Supporting Quest There also needs to be a secondary navigation at the top/side for parents that includes: - Parents Portal - school calendar - Admissions TOP LEVEL GRADE PAGE This is the page that introduces a specific grade to parents. Here's an example: https://www.questacademy.org/k-2/2nd-grade The teachers and the content of the curriculum are the reasons parents choose Quest Academy but these pages need to be much more fun. We need to highlight teacher bios but we need more images to dramatize what goes on in the classrooms. Importance of information is as follows: - Approach to the grade - Primary teachers - Schedule - Electives teachers (called Specials Teachers)
Key creative elements are the Quest Academy logo. The School Colors are red, white and black. The school mascot is the Knight but much of that imagery is very old. If there was a way to modernize the image of a Knight, that could be cool.
