revaI got their new web page design by running a design contest:
Gamified Health & Wellness Education Platform for Schools
Check out revaI's Web page design contest…
We provide culturally relevant health education that promotes physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.
We want a sense of movement and a hero graphic that represents badging and healthy competition. We're drawn to warmer colors and organic/earthy tones. Things should feel handmade/hand touched (Non Stock). Use opportunities to play with texture/shapes. It needs to be youth-friendly (lively, colorful, bold), but not childlike as the students are aged 12 - 18. We're open to a new logo or perhaps changing our current dual-tone logo to a single color.
Homepage: Hero area that reflects the idea "healthy competition" to tie into our gamification and badging focus. "Find your path to health" and "Health starts here'' are different taglines we've been flirting with. The page should make our value proposition clear. We want to have a "Featured In" section that highlights one of our strongest press quotes (see slide 16 of the Google deck) and a section that showcases testimonials. We want better CTAs for our target customers (students, instructors, homeschoolers, schools and districts). We want to have featured content but perhaps focus on Learning Paths instead of classes. Learning paths focus on a competency - like self-efficacy - and lead to a digital badge; it's a sequence of content and learning activities and there's an expected duration for each activity. The student moves on to the next content or activity once the previous is completed. Please also identify our integrations: Schoology, Classlink, Clever, Google Classroom. https://lessonbee.com/ About page: History/About, Team, Values, Partners, release notes. https://lessonbee.com/about Membership page: We have three primary plans. We don't want to show pricing upfront. Instead we want the customer to configure based on the number of users (and for the Solo plan whether it's a student or instructor). This could be achieved via a slider or something else. https://lessonbee.com/subscribe Features page: What's currently on the page but designed better. Instead of screenshots we want graphics that represent the features, similar to Nearpod. https://lessonbee.com/features Schools and Districts: We want to change this page name to Professional Development. It will have a lot of the same language but include more detail about the social emotional wellness (combination of SEL and Culturally responsive teaching and Lessonbee competencies) PD that we offer and it could list upcoming workshops with registration options as well. https://lessonbee.com/schools-districts Class page: We want an improved layout for our individual class pages. Something that's more mobile friendly. https://lessonbee.com/classes/12/Health-and-Social-Emotional-Learning We'd also love to see a page concept for a Learning Path! What to avoid
Make the designs able to be animated ( Small bits of Motion Graphics). If the character design is too complex ( eyes, nose, mouth, etc…,) it might be more challenging to add motion later. Vector Illos are preferred, but if you can design them in a way that doesn’t look canned and as “hard edged” then that would be best. Have diversity with illustrations! Different body types, and skin tones please. Please try to stick with the color palette from the image below (#f6a8a4, #ee6a65, #7dadeb, #23487d, #eea000, #d57111, #94ab13, #677f07). People will need to have realistic skin tones.
Yes ---- Be careful about the age of stock images. If you choose to use stock images, students should be between the ages of 10-18. Look for something particularly in the middle (13-14 yrs old). Find good images of students with teachers, interacting with technology (Laptops, iPads, etc…). Stock images where a person can be easily isolated from the background are preferred. Diversity is important.
Every design category has flexible pricing for all budgets. Web page design starts at $599.
