Business & Consulting
We are a start-up that produces a newsletter each month for mental health, legal, and criminal justice professionals. We identify peer-reviewed research on forensic risk assessment and then systematically summarize it in a way that does not violate copyright but makes the information easier to manage for readers. We would like you to develop our website for us. It will reach professional audiences all over the world.
I would like for the colors to be coordinated with the AIRR logo and background map (see page 1 of the attached template). This is a professional website that should look sleek, elegant, and sexy. Above all it should be simple and non-cluttered.
HOMEPAGE (example pages 1-5) The goal of the homepage is to introduce our service. There should be a a large banner that acts as a "slider" (i.e., the banner slides from displaying one image to the next) alternating at regular intervals between five images. Each time the image changes, a different one of the five circles below the banner should be highlighted. Below this should be three large buttons reading (left to right): "Professional License", "Group License", and "Student License". If you click on one of these, you go to a follow-up page (described below). Beneath these buttons is a button (reading "FREE SAMPLE ISSUE") linking directly to a PDF that will be provided to you upon completion of the project. By clicking on this button, the web browser should automatically download the PDF. Finally, at the lower right should be a place to put in contact information (E-mail, Telephone, Fax), and a copyright statement. The site should be copyrighted to "Singh Institute of Forensic Research" in 2013. FOLLOW-UP PAGE (example pages 6-8) This page will take one of three forms depending on whether the viewer clicked on "Professional License", "Group License", or"Student License" on the homepage. Regardless, the page set-up will be the same. Inside a thick black border will be four items. First, the kind of license selected (e.g., "Professional License" should be centered in a similar looking box to the homepage at the top of the screen and centered. Below this there should be text reading "I would like to sign up for..." and below that two boxes with the two pricing options. One pricing option is for 6 months and the other for 1 year. The pricing information is provided in the template that I am attaching for you. When the viewer clicks on one of the two pricing options, they are taken to the payment page. PAYMENT PAGE (example page 9) Depending on which pricing option the viewer selected on the follow-up page, this should serve as a "check out" page. It should be secure and simple to follow. Billing details should be collected as well as credit/debit card information. When the individual clicks to complete their transaction, I would like a receipt to be sent to their e-mail address thanking them for their purchase and giving them the receipt. The example that I give in the attachment is just an example, feel free to structure it and give it whatever look you like provided it is simple and clean.
What to avoid
Do not have the "slider" go too fast, and make sure that you can click on each of the circles below the "slider" to go from one displayed image to another. Please also avoid cartoonish fonts, colors, and images.
A higher resolution version of the "Singh Institute" logo will be uploaded momentarily. Please get in touch if you have any questions, and please keep in mind that sleekness, professionalism, and elegance are the keys to this competition. And, as always, simplicity is king. Please choose whatever fonts you think best match the mission of the website. Please do the same with whatever color scheme you like and think matches best. And have creative fun!
