Food & Drink
We are a Group Purchasing Organization for local restaurants and small, locally owned chains. We use the combined buying power of our membership to negotiate lower prices on things restaurants use, from food to paper products to even phone service and credit card processing. As a result, we have two audiences: Manufacturers/distributors who are interested in working out a contract with us, and restaurant owners who either are members or are interested in becoming a member.
We recently revised our company logo to be more modern, which is attached to this brief as both the full logo and the "icon" version. The website needs to reflect this clean, modern look (and drive home the new color scheme) so that our new look can become firmly established in the industry. The feeling we want to give visitors is that our company is warm, innovative, direct and passionate. While we are a very professional company, we also have a strong personal touch – all our sales are made in person, and our member usually have their rep’s cell number. Technology also plays a strong role in our company, as we have a stronger tech backing to our product than any comparable business.
Homepage - EXTREMELY simple. We are having an animated video produced to explain how our company works, which should be the focus of the page. Please design a powerful frame that will be front and center that is eye catching and will get prospect to click to watch the animated video. This homepage should include only the navigation bar, video, a strong call to action (“Click here to contact us about becoming a member or vendor”) and logos of some of our big press coverage (USA Today, Associated Press, Wall Street Journal, Nation’s Restaurant News) along with your best way to present about 5 to 10 key client logos and maybe a 1-sentence testimonial from each if it can fit. Maybe mouse over to see quote, maybe they scroll or flip. Please be creative in the presentation of press logos and client logos. We also need our main member cities listed – you can find that list on our current homepage Our Programs – Should be divided into two sections: 90-Day Trial Programs & General Business Programs. Use dummy text for a description of each program - The 5 90-Day Trial Programs should be highlighted and have a call to action. They are: Broadline, Disposables, Produce, Center of the Plate (Meat), and Seafood. - There are about 15 general Business programs that should have a short description and a “click if interested” call to action. Examples are: Linens, Pepsi, Bread, Credit Card Processing, Chemicals, Uniforms, Dairy, Prescription Cards, Sprint, Office Max. Some require a commitment of volume or have certain parameters to qualify so please leave space or call out for that.
What to avoid
The site should also be very clean and sleek; please avoid clutter or excessive content on a page.
We have a top-notch in-house web guy who can handle anything you throw at him, as far as functionality. If you have an idea for anything regarding how the site will function (movement, pop-ups, etc.), just include a clear description of how it will work.
