Design a Sleek + Modern "google like" Search Engine for The King of Systems

We like modern, simple to follow, sleek designs.
Colors : black, white, gray with small accents of red (can we see both a deeper red vs a brighter red)

We are creating our own internal google but want it branded to us.

You can use that as a starting point but it's definitely not what we are looking for in the end.

Homepage: Currently can be found here (http://search.realestateu.com/). We do NOT love the image that is shown. It was simply a placeholder. I'm not sure what would look best here but excited to see your ideas. We do like the font Bebas.

Search Results Page : Sample (http://search.realestateu.com/?s=real+estate) - It looks like the orange question marks are to symbolize that the search items are FAQs .. I DO like the idea of differentiating between each type of item (Documents FAQs Images Mindmaps Vendors Videos) but don't think a massive question mark is the way to do it.

I have no suggestions here but all I can say is this is awful. We do not need the option to "edit". Keep in mind, there are different file types and each file type may need some slight tweaking that will make it make sense for the type. Here is the current video one : http://search.realestateu.com/?p=18001. The add a system button does not need to be on this page.

The current site is http://search.realestateu.com/ please feel free to look around and familiarize yourself with the flow. Again, it's basically our own internal Google.

We have hired a new developer to re-do the site since this was a basic mock-up.

We need the site to be re-branded with our current logo and completely redesigned.

Possible textured background ideas we like : wood, geometric, marble, concrete.
