Wonderful vacation options around the world. Over 150,000 accommodations, adventure travel, tours and services in 120 categories and 180 countries. Information is entered by the travel company. Visitors to the site browse the listings and send an inquiry. All bookings are done directly by the advertiser.
Some listings have more detailed information than others (rates, calendar, amenities, map, description). Visitors are 25-65.
This site redesign is looking for 3 things:
1. Increasing conversion rate. When a visitor views a listing, we want them to send an inquiry -- if they are interested.
2. Browse the site for other listings that might be more appropriate to their tastes, needs, budget.
3. Add other listings to their vacation planning. If they are looking for accommodation in Miami, we want them to discover scuba diving, ballooning, biking, tours, or other activities.
One challenge unlike AirBnB or other travel sites is that they often focus on just one category like accommodation. RealAdventures has a lot of different activities (biking, hiking, ballooning, etc) as well as accommodation and tours. The visitor needs to select a destination and drill down to the specific place. Or they select a category and drill down to a destination.
I do a lot of biking. I might be interested in going biking in Europe but I don't know where. So I select biking and can then see a list of bike rides in Spain, France, Germany, etc. Then I would drilldown to France and see the rides throughout that country. Then I could drill down to a city.
But if there are no bike rides in Paris, then I want to show bike rides near that city.
Alternatively, if I am going to Paris. I start from the front page by selecting France, then Paris. Then I would select which category I am interested in: Accommodation, biking, tour, etc.
