This contest is for the homepage. The content of my site is not exactly for children, it's more about helping and supporting parents and educators as they guide their families and students towards a wilder, more connected life. So, I don't think the design should be overly kiddish, like a children's toy site, but I would like it to have a nice balance of and fun / creativity without loosing that feeling that I can be a strong support system for adults of that makes sense.
My two main colors are the salmon found in my logo and blue. In the attached colors.png, I've put a few more that I liked, but I'm really open. I would say just not more than three colors, and I included the dark grey because I think that is better than black if there are any areas you to create a header or something.
Hand drawn illustrations: I think small touches of illustrations would work really well on my site. Not overly sketchy/cartoonish doodles or those that are too realistic, but still some simple natural illustrations that will bring the design to life. I love this folk illustration as opposed to the watercolor style that seems to be everywhere now: http://www.artisticmoods.com/sarah-walsh-2/
Small animation: I'm open to a small animation element of some kind. I know that would have to be created by me, but I wasn't sure if your team ever suggested something like that.
I have attached a homepage mockup (homepage_1.png homepage_2.png)
I need all those elements (ie. header, blog posts, search bar, navigation) included, but I'm open to more.
Please don't let my design constrain you. I mean I like the circle around each of the main topics (please ignore the circle colors, I couldn't get them to change because they were originally black), but it might be nice to include like a natural element on the left side of the circles or something. Point is, I'm open to ideas!
I would like the main banner image to be the one I have attached and named IMG_2460.jpg (it's me and my girls walking).
The font pictured in the mock up is what I would like to use in the design for the headers - or wherever you think it would look good. It's called Quickfox and I own it, so I can send: https://creativemarket.com/vuuuds/4…4-Quickfox
I'm open to any other fonts you'd want to add. I could purchase those.
