NickSmith got their new web page design by running a design contest:
Design a great new home page for Prizebug.co.uk
Check out NickSmith's Web page design contest…
Prizebug.co.uk is a UK based competition (sweepstake) portal which lists internet based competitions and prize draws from around the UK. Advertisers can list their competitions and users will search for competitions and click on links to take them direct to the advertiser's site.
http://freestuff.co.uk - we own this site and will use similar functionality - so we want the site to be similar but not appear a "clone" - Prizebug needs it's own brand. Please note: The entries so far have been disapointing - we are looking for a fresh new design and brand for Prizebug not simply a cut and paste of the old logo onto our other site template.
Homepage - concept only. The page should be fun & lively and quickly get the message across to the user that it is a UK competition listing site - and users have a chance of winning top prizes. The page should look professional and trustworthy. There should be a prominent newsletter signup box - with fields for "First Name" and "Email Address" There should be clear navigation to the following main competition categories: Cars Cash Computers Gadgets Entertainment Fashion Food and Drink Free stuff Games Consoles Health & Beauty Holidays & Flights Home and Garden Sport & Fitness Vouchers & Gift Cards There should also be separate clear navigation to these categories: Latest Competitions Ending Soon Competitions Most Popular Competitions Least Popular Competitions The page should also list 15 competitions as excerpts from the site's blog posts - (1 post = 1 competition) for the following categories: Ending Soon Competitions: (5 comps) Latest Competitions: (5 comps) Most Popular Competitions: (5 comps) These excerts should have a prominent button "Enter Now" which will link to the advertisers competition . The Post title will link to the full post page. The excerts should also include a 120x60px image holder which will also link to advertisere's competition. There should be links in either the header, footer or sidebar to: Facebook Twitter Youtube Toolbar
Attached is an image with logo/image from old website - we would like a new modern design to replace this. Also attached is a photo of a promotional prize bug - we use these for promotion (although they don't have the arms & football as in the photo). Target audience is UK "compers" 35% male 65% female, aged group 25-50. Not very net savvy and lower level of education. Looking to win prizes or get freebies. UPDATE: I would like a new logo for prizebug eventually but now realise this may be outside the remit of a web page design contest - so all enrties using the old logo will be considered and we will possibly redesign the logo later.
Every design category has flexible pricing for all budgets. Web page design starts at $599.
