Medical & Pharmaceutical
We are a non-profit philanthropic biomedical research organization. The target audience for this project is the administrative and scientific staff that work at our facility the "Janelia Research Campus." I should also tell you that not everyone that goes to this site will be a scientist. Most of the time will be staff that support scientists (i.e. Admin Assistants, Managers, Directors, Finance people, etc.). This site will not be outward facing to the general public, but rather used internally to access our own internal campus services.
Colors: (See attached corporate color palette) Logos: (See attached corporate logo) Visual Style: Modern and clean Navigation: Single page navigation. We want customers to view sub-menus on mouse over rather than click. Ideas: It would be efficient that when a customer mouses over a menu the sub-menus appear in a way that pops out. We are looking for something fresh here to wow our customer.
Future Page URL -- services.hhmi.org -- This is tentative, but might be something worth incorporating into the design. This is primarily a landing page for navigating service applications (i.e. Concierge, Shipping, Training, etc.). We want this site to act as a way for customers to easily navigate to the sites and services they are looking for. I have attached what it looks like today (see Current Page files). What we are trying to achieve -- We want customers to find the service application they are looking for without having to click through multiple pages or search.We have two ideas that we are exploring, please pick the approach you think is best. Approach #1 (Clean with dynamic navigation) ---Customers land on a single page with a minimal number of categories, and then are able to easily mouse over those *categories to see the **service application options available. Approach #2 (Clean, but show everything) ---Customers land on a single page and see all the **service application options available logically separated by *category. Approach #3 - Provide a design that you think is best given our requirements. *Categories: Human Resources (or HR) - Admin Operations - Technology Transfer - Facilities - Information Technology (or IT) **Service Applications: Concierge, Shipping, Tech Transfer, Training, Personnel Change, Lab Transition, Workday
We like the simplicity of our current page (see attached), but the problem is that customers have to click around to find exactly the service application they are looking for, it is not always intuitive. Another suggestion that has come from our team is that when you hover over a category it gives you details about what icons it contains (i.e. Summary).
