lippeveld.b got their new web page design by running a design contest:
Crisp website design needed for a market that hasn't been touched yet!

A huge pain point I've had in the last 10 years is running and organizing sports teams (intramural in college, then rec leagues afterwards). The problem is the day of the game, I'm always scrambling to find free agents (usually friends, friends of friends), to replace the rostered players that can't make it that night. Some leagues require a certain amount of females, so sometimes my ask is gender specific, and sometimes I'm missing a position player, such as a goalie. On the flip side, a lot of people can't commit full time to the rec leagues, either because they are too busy with work, or the leagues are too expensive. Some of my leagues are $125 for 6 games, so if you even miss a few games the price per game is pretty high. I want to build a web app that connects the managers with these people that can play on a nightly basis. There won't be a concept of a manager or a player, but more a user that can create a request for a player, and they can also view a map of their city with requests for players and respond to the request and confirm their attendance.
I don't really have an idea for the style. In terms of theme, it should be fun and engaging. It can be sports related, but i don't want to push that too hard. I love a clean website.
For the first page I would like to see a login page, something clean but also memorable and attractive. If there is a logo of the company on it, please do not cater it to the name of the site as that will probably change, but maybe something sports related. For the second page, this one is a bit more complicated. I've included a really rough UX sketch I made on a whiteboard to help out. The idea is this is where the player will browse the map for various requests for players. Ideally, the map is themed, as is not the generic map colors you see on google maps. The page should allow you to filter requests for players, for things such as from date/time to date/time, sport, player level, and maybe an option to see currently booked requests, past requests, and open requests. The pins on the map that represent these states should be different. Ideally, the overall page also should show the current user, maybe a dropdown on the right side for personal navigation (user profile, help, logout), and a main navigation on the right (find match, request player, my bookings, leaderboard, etc).
What to avoid
I would love to see as many components as possible (input forms, buttons, dropdowns), so I can gauge the style and user interactions. Hopefully this will also allow me to build a style guide for when I can build more of the website. (I'll be coding this up solo in React JS with a node backend if you're curious :) ).
I'm usually someone on the product end that takes everything in my own hands, but design is always something I've handed off because of the respect I have for creativity and just seeing the past designers at my company crush our website design (crush in a good way). Also my mom is a website designer so she will judge me based on design.
