PLEASE READ: There are two pages, a landing page and a "functional" page :) Within your submission, you can stack the two images one on top of the other!
--Landing Page-– This page should highlight the features and introduce the concept of Forward Tutoring. What we want to inspire in our landing page is a very user-friendly and content-centered website. So, we would like a frame centered in the page, and the ability to peruse all of the content of the website within that frame –- we really want to abstain from having users scroll down the page in our website. For that frame, we were hoping that the navigation could be attached in some sort of overarching design.
The landing page should have a way for a user:
-to log into his/her account
-(new users) have the ability to be linked to the log-in page where they can be separated into the appropriate category-- student, tutor, or organization ( or nonprofit) in a simple, visually appealing way.
-(Potential supporter) can find out more and learn how to donate and support, which should also be prominent on the website.
This is the first page anyone (students, tutors, organizations, and supporters) is directed to when they arrive at Forward Tutoring.
--The "Functional" Page-- (once a user logs in, this is where all of the services/functions are available).
We want our "functional," post-login page to be content-centered. We would like to have all the content within a single window--no scrolling necessary (refer to how Asana works after logging in).
Within this frame (again, no scrolling), we would like to have the different options (i.e. "ask a question," "find volunteer opportunities," "become a tutor"--roughly 8 different options-- LISTED BELOW) displayed as tabs along either the top of the window or the left-hand side of the window.
Thus, when navigating, the overall page design would not change; rather, only the content within the frame would alter (refer to how Gmail works here). We want it to be clean, student-friendly, organized, and cohesive in terms of
thematic elements and color with the pre-login landing page.
There is a mockup attached to this design brief. Please refer to that to get a clearer idea of what we're looking for!
Here are the different options we need to be available on tabs-- feel free to ask questions.
-Ask a Question
-Manage My Credits
-Take a Practice Test
-Become a Tutor
-Answer a Question
Note: If you could put sample text (eg: Verdana) and titles in a font of your choice, that would be fantastic.
Note 2: We have attached a mockup of the functional page. Please refer to this for some more guidance!
