Create a design (and later maybe more) for a innovative new idea

I want to show a "net of connections" between objects, persons or data (associations). The website should help people to quickly recognize relevant coherences. They should be able to search for any desired term (objects, person or data) to get all associations the internet know about this term. The target audience is everyone.

I need a start page. The page have to look modern but plainly. People should have the opportunity to log in, change categories and change the size. There should be a search field (in the top?!) and the main content: a big net structured over the whole screen (look at the mockup for inspiration). Users should be able to navigate into different depth of these associations. They also should be able the generate new connections and to create new associations.
