What do you have in mind for the style and theme of the web page?
Using blues/whites would be great, as this matches our branding! I’ve attached our current logo mark.
Illustrations would be great but not a must (either custom or stock) but no photography stock. I’d like to keep the design fun and lighthearted, but not look too young/childish. We’re also not a traditional education site, so definitely nothing corporate looking.
I'm not a fan of very busy designs. The simpler the better, as long as it's includes all the main elements.
The use of abstract shapes would be great, as featured in some of the websites I’ve listed that I like. I’m a massive fan of asymmetric designs. I think the websites that I’ve listed as inspiration speak for themselves :)
I’m also open to typography suggestions and am happy to pay for licenses for these for web use, so don’t hold back!
I only need a homepage designed, including the top navigation and footer.
I’ve included a homepage I started working on (clearly I’m not a designer) just to give an idea of what kind of elements I’m looking for on the page. Don’t take this too literally though, I’m completely open to your own personal touch/ideas.
Important to include are testimonials (think speech bubbles or quotation marks around customer testimonials), and a stand-out section explaining membership and the benefits.
It's not important to include the word 'codecourse' in the header, I quite like just the logo mark in the top.
- Top navigation
- A header with a title and strapline
- Sections explaining what we have to offer (similar to shown in the mockup)
- Testimonials from current members
- Information on Pro membership
- A section, similar to testimonials, with a message from me :)
- Call to action to get started/browse courses/sign up.
- Footer with links/social links as shown on the mockup.
What to avoid
No stock photography, but illustrations are fine if you’d like to include them. Otherwise completely open to anything.
Try not to follow the example design I gave too much, just use it as a guide of what needs to be on the page. I'd like a professional designer's spin on a great homepage :)
