Medical & Pharmaceutical
What we do: We sell dental products that incorporate a natural sugar substitute called xylitol. Xylitol is not only deliciously sweet and very healthy, but it also combats cavities. It is recommended by Dentists as a tasty and natural way to replace your sugar. Because it’s a low glycemic index sweetener, it’s also great for diabetics and people wanting to reduce their sugar intake. Our Target Audience: Age: 45-70 Gender: 60% Female, 40% Male Average income: $80,000-$140,000 Interests: Remaining healthy as they enter their elderly years (Not only to just live, but to live well. For some reason Sean Connery & Cary Grant come to mind) Most are financially successful (Did you see their average income? Not bad grandma, not bad) Very family minded – (Want to be around and involved in their children’s and or grandchildren’s lives) About 40% shop primarily at natural product retailers like Whole Food Markets. Problems: Frequent/persistent cavities, despite great dental care (They’ve seriously tried everything – especially brushing and flossing.) Some are worried about their kid’s cavities too. (Continuation of previous point) They’re tired of doing what the dentist has told them, only to have more cavities (These aren’t 12 year olds who skip a brushing session or two… or eight) What we can do: Our Xylitol gum, mints, toothpaste and mouthwash offer them convenient and natural solutions to help them conquer their cavity problems, so they can get back to their interests. We can drastically improve their visits to the dentist. Think healthier teeth/smile. Happier dental visits.
I want to leave this fairly open to see what you can come up with, but: Simple Text (Keep it clean, keep it condensed, keep it tight) Match an icon or image with most pieces of text. We want potential buyers to be able to easily scan the site and see how the products will help. Lifestyle shots (I want some bright hope to show through in these lifestyle shots. Not “Arms of the Angels” save the dogs hope.(They don’t have a terminal illness, they have cavities) I’m talking happy hope. Put some smiles on these folk. The kinda’ hope that you get when you think of the perfect excuse to get out of going to that movie you didn’t want to go see. Boom! That kind of hope. We don’t want every smile to look stock and posed. We’re hoping for a more candid look) Make it green (Actually make it more blue. By green I mean natural. I want some life in this website. Whole foods shopping, polar bear saving, kale chewing life. I want this portrayed in design though) We’re keeping the same logo (Epic only, drop the xylitol logo from the header). Cook's Note: Keep in mind that we really like the sites listed below, but we want to see what you can do. We believe in your creative energy. If you are struggling for inspiration, consult your spirit animal.
The stuff of legends! - We would like both pages headed by a lifestyle shot. - Home Page – See Above - Category page – We would like a way to convey our product’s benefits above the fold. We would like brief explanations below each individual product displayed.
What to avoid
No lions or other commonly found animals in the Sahara desert.
Remember: Our product is not in the dentist's office, it is in their homes, in their cars and their offices. We want to show change our product can make in our customer's lives, distancing ourselves from the cold chrome of the dentist's office.
