Johnny Yen got their new t-shirt by running a design contest:
Design A Sick T-Shirt For The Biker Lifestyle Network!!!
Check out Johnny Yen's T-shirt contest…
The Biker Lifestyle Network is a collection of sites geared toward riders that live the biker lifestyle. Riders that are addicted to riding. Riders that live the biking lifestyle 365 days per year. Day in, day out these people are wearing the leather, riding or talking about their next ride or rally. NOT fair weather riders, however, hard core riders that ride regardless of weather conditions, etc.
What's your vision?
We are looking for our first t-shirt design for our biker network. Open to creativity, however, do have a few "guidelines". No flames, no knives, no guns, no crazy looking choppers, no art of the "grim reaper", no angel wings. The text that MUST to be on the shirt is the web address "BLN1.com" AND "Because Riding Is A LIFESTYLE!" The design should be big, clean, cutting edge and NOT over cluttered. NOT something a tired old biker would wear, however, geared toward younger bikers. And by "bikers" I mean Harleys. NOT dirt bikes, etc. Two sided, however, the back should be the focus. Designs will be printed on black shirts primarily. NOT looking for a shirt with too many colors. A few colors that will "pop" off of black will work. One idea we have kicked around is a caricature of my head (I have a relatively distinctive look including, earrings, goatee, cap, sunglasses) on the front of the shirt yelling "Follow Me To The Network!" with the required text, art, etc. noted earlier on the back.

It all began with a design brief.

And then… they selected a winner!
The design was exceptional. It captured what I was looking for in a fun and creative way. It was a variation from the traditional 'coffee company circle'. When you're starting a new company and need some direction for a unique logo, pmo is the guy.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
