IBG Ltd. conceptualizes and creates t-shirt designs catered to vacationers (& staycationers) to The Cayman Islands.
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
This design (see image) has a vertical line going down the middle of it, to which the numbers “345” should be aligned. The numbers on the right-hand side of the line are the mirror image of the ones on the left. The additional markings are the added to and around the numbers to create the effect of being able to read “cayman” when the image is rotated 90° clockwise, and likewise “islands” when rotated 90° counter clockwise; a sort of ambigram (not exactly, but...) that is legible and easily recognizable even if the viewer/reader doesn't know that the area code is 345 or that there is a country named the Cayman Islands.
The market segment to keep at the forefront is one of a vacationing person(s). Someone relaxed and carefree, but still compelled enough by the design to spend their money. The age range can be anywhere from 8/9yrs (cool/hip/neat/different/something to show off when they get back home) to 35yrs (unique/smart/appreciates the ‘coolness’ of it/willing to buy one for someone else).
Something visually appealing but not overly touristy - no animals, or palm trees or boats. I'm envisioning something clean, enough contrast between the numbers and 'word' markings to distinguish them and make them pop off the shirt.
I'm extremely open on the theme/tone of the design: punk rock, regal/royal, official looking/formal, playful and colourful yet still not too busy.
