editor B got their new t-shirt by running a design contest:
Create our "Chinese Typewriter" T-Shirt Design
Check out editor B's T-shirt contest…
Crisp line drawing for the Chinese Typewriter (the machine) & a silhouette line drawing of the MC Hammer Chinese Typewriter (dance). The first challenge/trick will be make these line drawings so that they are minimalist but instantly recognizable - someone should see it and know that it's the MC Hammer dance, and also understand that they are looking at a mechanical device. The second challenge is spacing: should 1 Chinese Typewriter be on the front and 1 on the back? Side by side? Top to bottom? I leave that to the you as the designers!
3 things: 1. the line drawing/outline silhouette of MC Hammer doing Chinese Typewriter dance 2. the line drawing of the mechanical Chinese typewriter (this one *cannot* be just a silhouette, though, otherwise people won't understand what they're looking at) 3. The punchline: "Chinese Typewriter Chinese Typewriter" (one under each image? Not sure how to space it, but hopefully you get the idea). p.s. I have included images of MC Hammer to jog your memory (not sure which of the 3 provides the clearest/most striking and recognizable silhouette) and some images of an actual Chinese typewriter, so you know how to draw it!
What to avoid
No ugly "Chinese Menu Font"! Something crisp/striking/preferably sans serif, but open to serif font. IMAGES SHOWN BELOW ARE FOR REFERENCE & INSPIRATION ONLY AND SHOULD NOT BE CIRCULATED OR REPRODUCED IN ANY WAY.
