How CalCommonCause started their stationery journey
We are looking for a logo / branded look that represents our alliance, RedistrictingCA which also stands for Redistricting California Alliance. California passed a law to create a citizens commission to draw new the entire state in 2011. Need logo and branded look for brochure PowerPoint, letterhead template 4 education materials. Our alliance includes civil rights, community, and good government groups. We want to make sure that we get the word out to regular folks around the state to apply to serve on the Commission. We will be traveling around the state giving presentations about how people can get involved, so we need to create a new look for all our materials! We may come back for more!
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Our audience is politically engaged Californians, all ages, all backgrounds. Need to have a logo / brand that expresses inclusivity.
We would love to have the logo incorporates three ideas: the outline of California, diverse faces, and/or district lines.
1. District lines - this could be the actual lines, which you can find on websites like: http://www.sen.ca.gov/ftp/SEN/senpl…TE_640.JPG or you might choose something symbolic, like puzzle pieces.
2. Diverse faces - We want to encourage people of all backgrounds and walks of life to apply to be a commissioner. So we'd like something that suggests inclusivity. It could be diverse faces, or something symbolic. Here's a handbook that some of our groups created in 2001, for the last redistricting process: http://www.maldef.org/resources/pub…Manual.pdf
We like the look of this, but we are looking for something a little less heavy.
3. The typeface should be clear, simple and bold. Action, inclusivity. We are teaching a serious topic that we are trying to lighten, a little.
