How pcasari started their logo & social media pack journey
Who are you known as?
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
We have a project funded by the European Commission that will teach 15 PhD students how to obtain wireless communications by 1) modulating the light intensity of LED appliances in a way that is invisible to the human eye, and by 2) detecting these small intensity changes to extract information from them. This communication paradigm is called "Visible light communications".
The logo will be applied to all official, technical, and scientific documentation of the project, as well as to its web presence. The remainder of the media presence kit will then be used for social media channels, including youtube, twitter, and other non-professional channels where we will convey our results in lay language for the community at large.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
What colors do you want to see in your design?
Other color requirements
The above are preferred requirements (blue for the EU colors, yellows as a reference to light). Other colors are also admitted, so long as these two are present.
To give us an idea of the overall feeling of your brand, let us know which styles you lean towards
We are seeking an artistic, professional, and clean design for the logo and social media presence of the project. As you can see from the attached examples, in a preliminary design, we kind of inherited from the EU logo by substituting the stars with 15 light bulbs (one per each PhD student that will be hired), and by putting the project name in the middle. We would like to enhance this logo to improve its appearance (design of the details, fonts, etc.) and add a couple of graphical features such as:
1) 2-3 bulbs may emit a "light cone" or "searchlight" in the style of the 20th Century Fox logos (see attached example): these searchlights can come from any of the bulbs, might be directed to another bulb (representing a wireless communication link) and may cross one another;
2) some representation of the communication taking place: this may be some 1/0 sequences representing bits, or the actual light modulation represented as darker/lighter bands (see attached examples), or both, or any other way the artist sees fit.
Similar designs should then be propagated to the rest of the social media presence package.
