This way the existing customers will recognize it, and the 'sunny day' is built right into both the name and the logo.
The typeface is modern, cute, bold, and feminine, and it'll serve them well for another decade or so. It's slightly modified so the 'L' matches the sweeping blue hill of the graphic.
The color scheme matches the cool blue sky and warm yellow of a rising sun.")

I made this from a sketch and then turned it into a pure vector in adobe illustrator.
The lettering is hand made and unique to this design.")

This avoids that while staying 'cool', having an edge that stops short of appealing to the 'black market'.
This design includes the individual 'Rook' wordmark, the chess piece mark, and the combined badge with the banner.")

This custom wordmark (technically three different graphics/versions) is all handmade typography (the 'Fitness' is a font I thought paired well).
I wanted to do something with edge, with some bite, aggressive lines, and a modern appearance that would still look good in 20 years.
I went through 5 custom typography styles, and about thirty versions/edits of this one before I settled on this iteration.")

The color palette is neutral and will have a broad appeal.
The icon comes in both horizontal and vertical orientations for different applications.
The typeface is a cute serif font that looks sharp and modern but has associations with old apothecary shops and natural magic.")

I wanted to make a custom wordmark for you by hand (not a font) in the spirit of some of the 70s-era childrens' programming on WGN and PBS.
I felt that it should be free-form and unrestricted, full of wonder, slightly askew, perfectly imperfect (which took hours of tinkering) and acting as a safety bubble for a kid contained within (a literal kid zone).
When children see this they'll know it's a safe place designed for them where FUN lives, and not just another errand of mom-and-dad's.
I hope you like this as much as I liked making it.")

The mark isn't a font, I did it by hand over and over again and turned the one I liked best into a vector graphic.
Then I added it to some custom shopping bags and retail signage to show you how it looks in practice.
This color palette is more conservative but still luxurious and fancy.")

I settled upon this mostly mono-line mark, which gives the illusion of a box logo despite being open and airy, like the great outdoors pictured within it.
The L completes the lower corner and launches into a typeface that has open counterspaces while being contemporary, clean, and minimal.
This design will work well for engraving, letterpress printing, laser-etching, and burning/branding.")

I'm aware it's probably a reference to 007, but I like the idea of the 'specks' on your face needing to get removed. There is also the proverb about removing a 'speck from one's own eye', which we can interpret as working on oneself before we worry about others.
The little dashes in the lines (or speks) draw the eye and make you stare at the word, making it imprint more on the brain.
I feel like this logo has a high propositional density, and that it will 'mean something' to a large group of men.")
:format(webp)/99designs-contests-attachments/117/117612/attachment_117612899 "I scrutinized the design brief for a while before I started sketching things out, and I was intrigued by the desire to not have 'plant-based' be the marketing linchpin for their pop-up (which I hope becomes permanent).
What I settled with was a new 'uniq' typeface for them. I wanted to make a modern, mono-line, san serif font that has design elements from classic diner signage (as food trucks are the new normal in casual dining).
The B and R's have crossbars that cross the stem, evoking a 50's-era streamline trailer lettering and hand-painted diner signage. I loved making this type, and may develop it into a full alphabet font called 'cyber cafe' or something :)
The bun is just cute, and let's people see from a thousand feet what they're selling and what they can expect. I matched the thickness of the letters for a web-friendly mono-line effect.")
:format(webp)/99designs-contests-attachments/117/117581/attachment_117581760 "I like the traditional tattoo flash art feel and the hand-painted sign (or bodega lettering) typefaces provided in the design brief, and it got me inspired to do something custom.
I took a photo of my hand, illustrated it, created a new straight razor vector by drawing one (I also did a comb that didn't look quite right coming out of the hand because of the teeth), and paired it with some custom typefaces to give it that homebrew craft feel.
This really bridges the gap between graffiti, traditional tattooing, and the revival of craftsmen logos (hipster logos).")
