This is a 'C', a wave, surf, and crooked.
It will work as an avatar, a brand mark, a logo, as a screened graphic on t-shirts, wetsuits, and works as a one-color embroidered graphic on a hat.
It can also be letterpressed or branded into something.
It's fun like the mascot-y designs attached to the brief, but has some edge to it and a bit of coastal nostalgia (I grew up in San Diego, CA).")

Most successful apps just use a modified typeface, so I modified a typeface for you.
This started out as 'Ellograph CF', which I chose after looking at hundreds of fonts.
Then I did dozens of little tweaks on it to massage it into what I had sketched out, with special rounds and angles on a lowercase type.
The 'A' is custom, I wanted a circle in a circle to play upon the 'circle' motif in the design brief, and the dot above the 'I' is the same as the 'A' hole :)")

This bridges the gap between the UN branding, classic soviet constructivist propaganda material, cold-war americana, and global corporation brand identities.
The brand palette is urban, modern, and corporate.
The graphics have been roughened up a bit to give them some texture, ageing them aesthetically.
This should work for all the contexts and screens a new brand will be looking to fill.")

I went for a 3/4 letter ratio to keep the wordmark symmetrical so you can easily center-align it.
This will also work for merch like tees and hats, and will hold up for screen printing or embroidery.
The letters are chunky enough to support custom textures or images inside them too, if need be.")

The stencil-ed 'S' seems like such an obvious move here, but it seems most people were afraid to do more by doing less.
The typeface is 'Manifold' and I think it's perfect for representing modern design, with it's tall curves, squarish bends, and straight lines.
This will look amazing on letterpress business cards, on invoices, on a truck / van wrap, and on your website.")

Drawing upon 50s-era b-movies, sci-fi comics and magazine covers, and all things deliciously retro I've cooked up a custom logotype.
This DIVE is textured, a big imposing slab of custom type, with a kraken-inspired cutout in the 'V'.
This will give people who see it a hint of the creeping horror that awaits them!")

In my doodles I kept coming back to the visual pun of a strike-through over the word strike, which has the minimal aesthetic of a luxurious restaurant. This plays on both the word 'Strike' and the way a strike is often scored in bowling (with an 'X').
The typeface is called 'Norwester', a beefy san serif that is very modern. Out of the hundreds of types I looked at for this project I felt this had the most character.
There were some slight modifications done to accommodate the concept, and the design accommodates any color palette.")
