I also created a crest-type of title, making a more typographical / type-focused cover.
I also added arrows, which, along with their tails add up to 13. I wanted to play on the \"13\" from the \"13 principles\" in some way; another interpretation is that I wanted to create a sort of compass, or pathways, with the best pathway being north, the one pointing up, to show that one can live a higher life, \"a life they can be proud of\". Thanks.")

I wanted the cover to reflect the overall theme of the book, that being a journey of self-discovery.")

This cover ties into the book's theme of \"suffering, struggles of change, and joy in victory\". The thorns represent the feeling of suffering and the struggles, where as the petals represent the joy felt in the end when victory is reached. The combined image of the thorns and petals symbolize the fact that \"life is hard but also beautiful\", another theme expressed from the book.")

I used a sunflower because sunflowers represent happiness and since the book is about moving on and finding love again, I felt it appropriate. It also represents longevity, so it represents the fact that a woman can find new but also lasting love. The pink flower also adds a nice colour and can represent love and happiness as well as blossoming, a woman blossoming in life to find new love.")

I made the title bold, especially the word \"Lives\" so as to highlight the fact that actual lives are being impacted, since the client's organization/book helps women start/grow their own businesses. I used only a single mascara swatch with the spoolie so as to not have a cluttered look, and to tie in with the title and with the fact that the org. sells beauty products to women. Thanks.")

Instead of the symbolic shaped breast cancer ribbon, I took it and made it loose as it symbolizes freedom and prevention. It symbolizes both a woman not having to reach that stage of having breast cancer (prevention), as well as a woman being freed from it (women who would have suffered it). So I feel this design encapsulates the targeted audience as well as what the book stands for. There is also a professional look to suit the client's professional title as well. I feel that it is quietly bold, symbolic, iconic, and engaging, all the things that the client wanted. It is a cover that will make an impact. I think with the bold title as well, it will instantly grab attention as people really aren't used to seeing breast cancer prevention books but rather breast cancer care & detection.")

Client didn't want the cliché marijuana leaf so I didn't use it as a single leaf, but rather have the text showing a marijuana bush through it. I really think this is a great, sleek, modern & bold cover that will grab attention! With the thick border it definitely commands attention, & with the first letters of each word being a solid, this would be an excellent branding opportunity as well, and would look great translated as a shirt design as it is simple but bold.")

What I like is that the leaf shape isn't prominent or too visible in it, thereby not treading into the cliché marijuana book covers that feature the leaf. I also made the background in a more gold hue so as to again not be similar to other marijuana books that use the green colour of marijuana. The gold colour can also represent the potential of the reader to capitalize & prosper with the help of the tips featured in the book. Also the gold hue is more of an attention-grabber & along with the bold solid stripe down the middle, would make people want to take up the book and explore it further. It is a sleek, clean & modern design. Design could also be translated as a shirt design (stock image seems to permit use once bought) & would catch attention with the bold stripe going down the middle of the shirt. The subtitle was also made prominent as it is a selling point.")

The blue water colour in the middle represents the teardrop of others, as well as the empath's soul, so as to show how they become one, as empaths absorb the energies and feelings of others. The background being in a darker navy blue colour is to resonate more with the book's title, to evoke it's meaning, to evoke the sense of pain/sorrow. I placed a white gradient in it and emphasized the titles so as to make the book not as flat. I didn't want the book to feel like a generic self help book. With the title in this font, it also shows a professionalism behind its contents.")

I feel as though with the striking and bold title as well as the chess-elements-filled background, it will definitely make viewers stop and want to pick up the book because it looks so different from the others. With such a unique cover, they will feel as though they are also getting new & unique advice and tactics from the book, which I'm sure they are. I do feel as though this cover design is different and will stand out & convey the feel wanted.")
