The idea is it conveys the fishing aspect of the ranch with the hook. The fish itself connects the ranch to the natural world, and further connects with fish that will be caught. The star shape is also there to subtly connect into the name.
I think this more subtle star is best when the name includes the word 'star', to avoid looking cliché.")
