My 6pp trifold concept starts with an simple stock image of an ominous looking situation suggesting victimhood, but leads into a flipside narrative, where both males and females experience empowerment and self-reliance through the Krav Maga system of training.
Icons were incorporated to help quick understanding of the program benefits, and a masculine colour scheme was offset with gritty gender-inclusive images to appeal to a broader demographic.")

The result was using a tightly cropped stock image of the Capitol Building to create a 'tip of the iceberg' type event teaser.")

To appeal to residential consumers, I incorporated editorial-themed type and imagery, and introduced 'handwritten' annotations to appeal to the consumers' need to be creatively involved in the installation process.
An important part of this project was copywriting, and I enjoyed distilling the Contest Holder's notes and thoughts into hardworking bullet points and headlines to complete the design.")

The challenge for this project in particular was sourcing an authentic, relatable and inexpensive stock image from amongst hundreds of melodramatic, sometimes bizarre headache-themed photos on stock sites. The radiating pain motif, and overall image edit was further refined prior to handover.")

Edited inexpensive stock image (removed excessive eyeshadow) and added a glowing radial halo to better suggest migraine pain. Handover included InDesign files with text placeholders so the Contest Holder could add custom text as needed. Clean lines, simple grid, restrained palette to convey an authoritative, no-nonsense approach to a common health condition.")

The CH had literally hundreds of beautiful high quality product images, so it was a challenge (and a pleasure) to sort through them all and find the most suitable assets for this purpose.
Plenty of whitespace was incorporated into the designs, together with unobtrusive logos, and bleeding colorful motifs off the page to highlight open space and luxury.")
