For this dream-centered thirller novel I wanted to create a cover with a strong movie feel.

On the background I put the girl in a pose that shows the pain that will lead her to trying to commit suicide. The color orange sets the difference from the foreground: I immagine the cover to be set soon after the main character Adam dreams of her and decides to go all the way to New York to save her. So in orange we got the danger and the dream itself.
I composed the image to show Adam's urgent thought in the back of his mind, and his determination (as it's clear from his eyes, which go in her direction) to do something about it. He just can't let Katie die.
