In this design I tried to convey the light and whimsical nature of the verses provided by the author combined with the watercolour theme he wanted. At the same time I wanted to mantain the design as minimal as possible and as clean as possible.

Initially I created an illustration which rapresented the hummingbird and some fig branches (as in the title of the book), limiting the color of the graphic elemets to green. In a second time the author asked me to try the hummingbird illustration he provided, which had many more colors, so together we explored a way to brings those colors to the text, and replaced the fig branches with a splash of watercolour sky.
