Client: Aziza Allen
Project: Book Cover
Industry: Literature
Target Audience: "This book is for women of color, ages 18-35, mature readers."
Design Needs:
"Think: raw. candid. vintage in some sort. I like layers (but not too busy), phases, the contrast of bold and simple [i like the idea of bold type mixed with script]. Also, think of "spilling over"- like it just doesn't quite fit in the space allotted.
Design Proposal:
Colours — soft, dusty, pastel pink for feminity contrasted with a muted navy blue for boldness.
Art — layered original drawing in pen, ambiguous female, minimalist line drawing.
Text — title is "cut off" the page and when another copy of the book is placed above/ below the word "Whole" becomes whole, bold serif font to contrast the hand-written style script of the author's name.
