The Caricature represents an old-timey mentor, but by wearing a hard hat he shows he can tackle the home projects one would reach out for help with in the app. The Blue background was by client request, but the subtle gradient choice is the designer's and demonstrates a modern sleek approach to the design. The typography choice is also meant to seem strong and sturdy, while reflecting educational or instructional materials of years past, in a trendy creative way.
