Author wanted for the design a picture of a lone highland cow looking out over a misty Scottish lake, mountains framing the sides.
About the story:
"It takes place at the end of the 16th century, during the North Berwick witch hunts.
John Fian is in love with a local farmer’s daughter, and reluctantly makes a deal with the Devil for her love. Through a misunderstanding, the farmer’s cow falls in love with him instead.
Though the story is humorous for the most part, it is based on actual events and doesn’t have a happy end, as witch hunts rarely do.
While the idea of a cow falling in love is funny in itself, I think the cover image should convey some atmosphere of loneliness, loss, or sadness."
