What's your vision?
This design is for our retail packaging which will be a rectangular cardboard box. We will be launching with a major nationwide chain of retail sporting stores in the New Year. We currently have simple packaging that hangs over the top of the package like in the attached pictures. The retailer requested that we come up with a cardboard box based packaging instead (similar shape to a wine bottle box) We believe inspirational marketing (becoming a better golfer), sleek modern design and instructional elements would be ideal words to describe what we are looking for. We are marketing to golfers of ANY skill level as our product is great for those just starting and wanting to hit straighter shots or correct their hook or slice, to more advanced golfers who always wanted to know how to curve the ball (Fade or Draw Shot) like the pros but never new how or were too intimated to even try and learn. And possibly most importantly, it should appear to be a perfect gift for any golfer (it really is a great gift) With this product we have made simple learning concepts even simpler(to hit a straight shot, just swing along the center line and match your clubface to the straight line behind the ball), to teaching what is thought to be difficult trick shots (fades and draws) in an incredibly easy fashion. A key element is how be break every shot down into a simple 4 step process which should be highlighted on the front or 1 side of the box. 1. Turn the mat until the desired shot type is pointing at your desired target (Straight, Draw, Fade). 2. Align feet, hips & shoulders parallel to the mat. 3. Match clubface angle to desired shot type line behind the ball. 4. Swing straight back and straight through the dashed center swing line. The packaging color is something we are entirely open to whatever you feel fits best. Mostly white background, black background, crazy color background, photo background. Also, we are not married to our logo (we like it, but are concerned it might be too similar to the Nike Swoosh), so if you have something better in mind, feel free to experiment. The only thing to keep in mind if you do experiment with the logo is it needs to be kept kind of simple with not too much detail as it needs to print clear on carpet (the mat itself is basically a floor mat..rubber base with carpet top) Good luck to everyone and we look forward to our entries. Specs: Each side of box will be 4 inches wide (square) and 12.5 inches long (plus top and bottom flaps). The box will lay horizontal. Therefore design should be horizontal. Side 1. Overview of product (picture of product, feature bullets) Side 2. As simple as 1, 2, 3, 4 (show step by step illustrations with how it works. Use the FADE illustrations from instruction sheet attached. Can re-create your own illustrations if desired, just make sure they match what is being shown) 1. Side 3. A picture of the Mat rolled up (so you get an idea of what is in the box) Side 4. Maybe photos of the product being used/rolled up and put in bag. Top Flap – Align-A-Shot Logo Bottom Flap – UPC Code The above are guidelines but feel free to experiment with the content of the sides as well.
