Competition Brief for Simsim package Design uplift Resonating Arabian cultural norms through traditional methods our ancestors created is the idea Simsim desires to reflect through its succulent food products. Simsim, or what translates to sesame, is a seed rooted in the Middle East and used in international cuisines like Asian, North African, and Balkan. The dynamic taste of sesame seeds allows chefs and home cooks to use this seed in dips, salads, seafood and even desserts. Additionally, sesame is the main ingredient for making Tahini and Halva; what is known as ‘Halawa’ in Arabic. To create these simple yet luscious products, the team behind Simsim have mirrored the traditional way of grinding sesame seeds and producing tahini and halva. That is how the idea using the ancient way of grinding with stone came about. To diversify the tahini products, Simsim infused flavors with the tahini paste to complement different dishes like shawarma, fish, salads, and kofta. The combination of the deliciously flavored tahini paste with these dishes is divine! To craft an identity mirroring traditional methods and the succulent taste of the Middle East, the right color palettes, design elements, and overall look curation are required to resonate Simsim’s brand identity. The importance of a look is valued in the way the brand’s message is communicated to customers. A brand image is strongly influenced & it is represented by and how it is remembered in the minds of customers. Simsim seeks to be defined through a design that not only attracts the eyes, but the heart as well. designs will be selected based upon authenticity, originality, and meaning.
