Woodpusher Salt and Pepper Grinder Set
Description of the product
Salt and pepper grinders that resemble chess queen and king pieces.
Description of the product target audience
Anyone who likes stylish, slightly unusual kitchen utensils and accessories. The product will be of specific interest to chess players, but not targeted especially at them.
We’re after a stylish, fairly minimal design for a magnetic flip top box. The top of the the box will contain the logo “Straster” (provided) and the model of the product “Woodpusher”, as well as the text “Salt and Pepper Grinder Set”. On the bottom of the box there will be “Made in Taiwan”. Inside of the box, on the flip top, there will be text (not provided, placeholder) of about 150 words. We’re providing 2 die cut designs. Die_cut.pdf is the die cut, and Die_cut_reference.png is the same as the pdf, but also has yellow rectangles to show where the graphic design should go. We’re also attaching a picture of a similar box as an example, and a picture of our product to give you an idea of what it looks like. UPDATE: When we say that we’re looking for a “quiet”, “minimalistic” design, we mean that we don’t want a busy, crowded design that has so much going on that it becomes harsh on the eye. Think simple design, but with a bit of a “twist” that would make our potential customers think “Oh, that’s different”. So, we’ve now added competitors.zip file with pictures of what our competitors’ packaging looks like, which in our opinion is simple and elegant, yet quite bland. We want our product to stand out among these competitors.
What to avoid
Anything over the top that will make the package seem like it contains a chess game set. Hints of chess/board elements are good, but not something that screams "there's a chess game board inside!"
It all began with a design brief.
A quick, interactive guide helped them understand their design style and captured exactly what they needed in their product packaging.
Designers across the globe delivered design magic.
ekaO collaborated with designers to refine their ideas
When design entries come in, you can rate them so designers know what you’re looking for in your logo design.
99designs has great collaboration tools so you can pinpoint and capture your ideas
And then… they selected a winner!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
