Medical & Pharmaceutical
Oxford Biolabs was founded in 2009 and is an ambitious health and beauty company. We have a dedicated team of researchers working on finding solutions to problems of hair loss, hair pigmentation and skin care, as well as finding natural ways to reverse aging. Our goal is to extend the quality of life with natural health and beauty therapies. Our TRX2 Molecular Food Supplement for Hair is currently the only product we have on the market has become one of Europe's most popular hair supplements. It is being sold worldwide. In 2015 we plan to market a food supplement for anti-ageing and skin-care. Customers of TRX2 Molecular Food Supplement typically experience problems with their normal hair growth and are improving their appearance while taking 3 capsules TRX2 per day over a prolonged period of time. TRX2 is suitable for men and women - our product's target audience are mostly well educated men (sales ca. 75%) and women (sales ca. 25%) of different age groups with high to medium disposable income. Our customers mostly live in European Union countries (United Kingdom, Sweden, Denmark, Spain, Germany etc.), but we sell in many others as well (e.g. Norway, United States, Australia). We aim to build these brands to be a global leader in the development of hair growth and other health related products products - see some past press releases: http://renegadetimes.com/2013/11/19 http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/yourbusiness/8248046/Thomas-Whitfields-German-roots-help-hair-loss-product-launch.html Please also check our websites www.trx2.com and www.oxbiolabs.com for basic orientation.
What's your vision?
We are heavily investing in the brands TRX2 (see http://www.trx2.com) and OXFORD BIOLABS (http://www.oxbiolabs.com), and have recently redeveloped their logos via 99 design competitions. TRX2 is a brand/product range owned by Oxford Biolabs Ltd, a UK-based company founded by scientists of the University of Oxford. TRX2 is the first food supplement brand promoted via the OXFORD BIOLABS brand. However, OXFORD BIOLABS will be used for an entire line of food supplements (hair loss, anti-ageing, hair pigmentation, skin-care). We want you to design 1) the design of TRX2 outer packaging (as this is our first food supplement, which we are currently selling) 2) based on your design in 1) come up with a design-code which can be applied to our entire line of planned food supplements (hair loss, anti-ageing, hair pigmentation, skin-care) Our values, which we would like to communicate with this outer packaging, are: - scientific - medical - credible - seriousness - simplicity - maturity - tradition and innovation combined - more masculine than feminine Companies with similar values, activity and corporate designs than ours: http://www.bayer.com/ http://www.novartis.com/ http://vitabiotics.com/ http://www.pfizer.com/ The dimensions and type of packaging is already decided on and currently being manufactured - it has a plastic window and a flap (features which have been decided upon and cannot be changed at this stage). The material of the carton is is made out of premium outer packaging - see example photo of carton attached how it will look like (without print). We have also decided on the text we want to have on this packaging - while this is theory can still be changed by the recommendation of the 99 designers - we generally would like to display all or at least most of it. Attached find an .ai file, which you can used as a basis for your further developments and suggestions. The job of the 99 designers will be to come up with the design for the TRX2 outer packing and subsequently come up with a design code, which can be expanded to a complete line of food supplements (using the same carton and same glas bottle as seen in the photo). The design that you will develop should: A) Be in line with the values we would like to communicate B) Give our outer packaging (for TRX2 and our line of supplement products) a premium look, which our would expect from a world class company and would help to communicate to our customers the excellent quality of our product and credibility behind it C) be easily scalable for our other brands/planned line of food supplements (anti-ageing, hair pigmentation, skin-care); our entire line of food supplements twill be marketed under the OXFORD BIOLABS brand. e.g. TRX2 is a hair loss supplement; in 2015 we are going to launch an Anti-Ageing supplement called NEA8 - hence instead of TRX2 it will be NEA8 on the packaging (similar for hair pigmentation and skincare). We want to be able to use the same outer packaging design, with a slightly different color code on the label as well as outer packaging (e.g. instead of light blue as we have on the TRX2 bottle label we may have brown on the anti-ageing label) - however when placed together in the shelf all products should appear as being from the same OXFORD BIOLABS product family. Important notes to the designer: 1) Use the .ai file we provide as a template for orientation and further development. Use it to develop your improved design suggestion as it contains exact dimensions of the carton for print company; use it for the TRX2 packaging design as well as for the “design-code” for the product line. If you require a quick feedback provide us with image versions - however in the end we need your perfectly and carefully edited .ai file 2) Feel free to reorganize the text, but generally without making any changes to the text itself; it is important to read through the text and understand it so you can judge which (possibly new/better) design elements to place where. If you feel that some text can be deleted or rewritten then please point out or mark in different color in your design so we can review. If you are an expert in packaging design/text then of course we welcome your text-edit suggestions. 3) The design should be simple, medical, scientific, non-flashy, world-class, credible and neutral 4) Again, the first packaging design is for TRX2 Hair Growth supplement capsules - however the same design style will be used to expand to other products/brands under the OXFORD BIOLABS brand (i.e. develop a unifying “design-code” for our upcoming product line - hair pigmentation, anti-ageing, skin-care) 5) The overall feel and color-scheme of the packaging should be white (e.g. see Dr Hauska as good example, where overall feel also is white) 6) Additional color preferences – the Oxford blue that we use on our logo and the lighter blue that we have on our product’s label are likely to be the most suitable color tones also for the packaging (note we can not change logo or bottle label as already decided on/printed). The way you introduce color to the mainly white outer packaging of our product should be completely in line with our values (science/medical/credibility/word-class), but also in line with our label design (and possibly also our website mwww.trx2.com) 6) New elements: feel free to introduce to the mainly white outer packaging conservative blue color element/elements/ finishing/decoration of the box according to the attached product packaging (e.g. see Dr. Hauschka as good example). 7) Feel free to introduce new design elements (e.g. similar to the professor OR change the professor if you like), but stay focused on our values, rather in the middle between quiet and loud. Some small “palyful character or element” may make sense. The text on the outer packaging should remain very visible and readable - but feel free to choose your text font, size and styles. The outer packaging design should complement the text, and not distract from it 8) Feel free to introduce something new and creative within the limits of what was described above 9) On the .ai file we have marked the place on the outer packaging where the hologram should be placed (see photo of carton on how hologram looks like). We can’t change the hologram per se (already manufactured) BUT feel free to play around with it in terms of relocating it if you feel we didn’t choose the best location for it (but on the front surface only) 10) The outer packaging design should look good in concert with our two logos (TRX2 logo and Oxford BioLabs logo) as well as our bottle label (see simulation of it in .ai file as well as in the photo of carton) - we also attach the bottle label as separate file for your orientation - NOTE we can’t change the label of the glas bottle (already printed) - hence the outer packaging design of TRX2 needs to correspond with it. However for other food supplements in the same product line (e.g. NEA8) the color/design can still be changed. 11) Barcode size cannot be altered/changed 12) Logos (Oxford Biolabs logo, Carnipure logo, TRX2 logo) cannot be changed as well. 13) do not make and changes to the TRX2 label - we ask you to develop our outer packaging design while using attached documents and project description only. We are looking forward to your design solutions. Oxford BioLabs Team.
Optional: In addition to developing the above described design you may develop one more variant of our outer packaging where you could play around with blue color tones described above and not necessary leave white as the main color of the packaging.
Every design category has flexible pricing for all budgets. Product packaging starts at $449.

It all began with a design brief.
A quick, interactive guide helped them understand their design style and captured exactly what they needed in their product packaging.
Designers across the globe delivered design magic.
Oxford BioLabs collaborated with designers to refine their ideas
When design entries come in, you can rate them so designers know what you’re looking for in your logo design.
99designs has great collaboration tools so you can pinpoint and capture your ideas
And then… they selected a winner!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
