Food & Drink
We are introducing a new concept on the Norwegian market. Our business model is subscription-based, were we once a month deliver 20+ units of portion packed healthy breakfasts and “on the go” snacks. Our customers will choose between a variety of different product categories, such as energy bars, cereals and nut bags. All products are either developed by us or our suppliers. Every product has to be packed in our branded package. Out typical customer is aged between 20-40 years old, has an active and casual healthy lifestyle. The name of the company is “Naturbit”, which means “A little bite of nature”. (Its not possible to directly translate the word to English). Please see our attached logo.
What's your vision?
We are looking to come up with an overall theme for our packaging. We have a variety of products and they should all have the same look and feel. So from this contest, we are looking to establish this. TARGET AUDIENCE: Our target customers are people living an active lifestyle and casually focused on health. We want to start out with developing two product packages, which we will use as a basis for further work. These two packages will carry the SAME look and feel. Those are: - One energy nut bar. See attachment “Specification of nut bar”. - One porridge box. See attachment “Specification of porridge box”. STYLE OF THE PACKAGING: • modern and healthy, through a simple and minimalistic aesthetic. • There should be a theme across every product and product category that ties it all together, to make the theme feel complete. THINGS YOU NEED TO CONSIDER WITH YOUR DESIGN: • Developing a theme that can be used across the whole concept/ product rang, • creative ways for differentiate product categories/ types of products (how do we make clear the different flavours/ products but keep the same look?) • all products in the range should work together, but they also need to be relevant and define themselves alone - developing a creative way to communicate this is important. REQUIREMENTS: - Base Colours: Kraft paper color, brown and green (see our logo). - Define the products in the product categories with different matt colors. - Maximum 6 colors per product. - Simple and minimalistic design. ATTACHMENTS & NOTES ON WHY WE LIKE THEM: • Yousli.png - We like the minimalistics nature of this design • hot cup cold spoon.jpg - We like how the concept shines through every product in this design • Mason & Co.png - In this design we like the use of kraft paper with matt colors and a clear message of the selling point of the product (75 % Chocolate) • The Primal Kitchen.png | http://www.packagingoftheworld.com/2015/09/the-primal-kitchen.html - We really like the simple design of these bars with few matt colors and how a concept (stone age) holds every product together • One Smart Bean | http://www.packagingoftheworld.com/2015/08/edamame-one-smart-bean.html - We really like the modern/trendy in this design. We feel that its maybe be a little to much, but in some way the design make beans look cool. We like the use of “handcrafted” fonts that gives the product a natural/homemade feel. • Everything Bagels - We like the style and colors used in this concept. We feel it’s a bit too much text, but the general style we are really found of. This is something you want to put on your coffee table. • Designs we like.docx - this is a word document with all the files above, and notes in one space. --- PLEASE NOTE --- Following this contest, we will need to either work in a 1-to-1 with the winner designer or launch another contest to develop a cereal box and a nut bag.
EDITED 12.10.2015: We`ve added a document that gives some examples of designs that we like and hope will inspire you. To make it easier for the designers, we have divided the specifications into two documents, each describing specifications for each product category. The requirements described in each specification document, is just a minimum requirement. It’s up to you to be creative, introduce design elements and play with it.
