Description of the product
Our fruit purees are fruit pulp made from only Hawaii-grown fruit without any additives. We are a small artisan producer of value-added tropical fruit products, located on the island of Maui in Hawaii. Our customers are visitors to Hawaii, as well as local residents. We are adding a new product line - Hawaii Fruit Puree, to our product offering. We also produce fruit jellies, fruit paste, and shortbread with Hawaii fruits. We buy fresh fruit directly from Hawaii growers, to produce premium, authentic value-added products using island-grown fruit as the primary ingredient, without preservatives, artificial coloring and flavoring. Our creations are the next best thing to sharing the actual fresh fruits from Hawaii, and are renowned for their unmistakable authentic flavors.
Description of the product target audience
People who like to use natural food products in their own food creations including drinks, desserts, pastries. They are health-conscious gourmands who like to indulge in the fine things in life. Gender is mostly female, age 20-65, location mostly Hawaii/Pacific West Coast states including California, Oregon, Washington State, but also the rest of the USA. Income is middle to upper middle. Unfortunately in the USA the average consumer, including our target audience(excluding professional pastry chefs), are not familiar with the concept of using fruit purees to make fruit fillings for pastries, or toppings for ice cream, acai bowl, pancake, etc., or to mix them into drinks such as smoothies or cocktail as a flavoring agent, or as part of a sauce or glaze. Most consumers associate the word "puree" with baby food purees. There aren't that may dessert recipes on the internet that call for fruit purees as an ingredient, and if there is, they would advise the audience to find frozen guava or passion fruit purees in Hispanic grocery stores. Our product will be not presented to consumer in freezers because they are shelf-stable. We expect them to be in the baking section of grocery stores. We must indicate the three primary applications for our fruit purees on the primary label to help the consumer grasp the concept.
For this contest, we would like you to use your talent to convey via our Hawaii Fruit Puree product labels, the state of casual relaxation, carefree freedom, an optimism that no matter how bad the storm, there will always be a beautiful rainbow and sunshine after the storm. We want people who have never set foot on Hawaii to instantaneously experience this feeling of wholesome well being, and find the fruit puree pouches irresistible. Our brand is a high end premium brand and our products are natural with no additives. As such, we need the Hawaii Fruit Puree product labels to exude the same sophistication, understated elegance, and whimsy. We need three product labels designed for our new fruit puree product line in these flavors - Mango, Guava, and Passion Fruit. The labels should be designed in a way that allows us to launch additional fruit flavors with ease in the future. The area for the primary (front) label is 10 cm (width) x 16.5 cm (height). However, the label does not have to be a rectangle of this size. We can have a die cut label if the design calls for one. The designs will be printed on sticker paper, and will be applied to the silver aluminum foil spout pouch such as the one in the photo. The following elements must be included on the front label: 1) Maui Fruit Jewels logo - our printer will be apply gold foil to the logo 2) Hawaii Seal of Quality logo 3) product name: "Hawaii Fruit Puree" 4) flavors: A. "Guava" B. "Mango" C. "Passion Fruit with Whole Seeds" 5) Text "Toppings", "Baking", and "Drinks" with optional pictograms to indicate the top applications for the fruit purees. 6) Text "Net Weight: 1 Lb. (454g)" The two most important words are "Hawaii" and the flavor name. --------------------------------------------------- For the label on the back, the following elements must be included: 1) Maui Fruit Jewels logo 2) Product name: Guava Puree / Mango Puree / Passion Fruit Puree 3) Ingredient Statement: A. What to avoid
Please avoid kitsch presentation of any images or icons of Hawaii. Please be mindful that the target audience of this particular product label is not for the professional chefs in the food service industry. We would also like to avoid having our spout pouches looking like a typical fruit juice pouch. Our fruit purees are a food/drink ingredient and not a ready to eat/drink product.
