Food & Drink
Description of the product
The product is an ancient grains porridge that is healthy, all natural and dairy free. You eat the porridge cold with a spoon, similar to a yogurt. It contains Norwegian quinoa and black oats. The product comes in three flavours (for this contest focus on the first flavor variety): 1. Kokos & kakao (means coconut and cacao) (TO BE DESIGNED IN A 1-to-1 PROJECT): 2. Kokos & vanilje (means coconut and vanilla) 3. Mango & syrlig havtorn (means mango and sea buckthorn) Please make a label for the first flavour, coconut & cacao, but keep in mind that it should be easy to tell the different flavours apart on the shelf. The label should contain a colour, image or both that clearly separates the flavours. We will sell the product in kiosks all across the country and we want the packaging to really pop in the shelves (logo attached).
Description of the product target audience
TARGET AUDIENCES: All ages but mainly 25-40 year olds, modern, wanting to eat healthy, natural and environmentally friendly in their busy lives. Also appealing to vegans. The target audience is both males and females. Income level medium to high, living in Norway's main cities. This brand is all about being bold, fun and lovable.
WHAT TO DESIGN We need a label to go all the way around the packaging (photo attached) as well as a label for the lid. A keyline with exact measurements of the label is attached. The labels must come in three variations, one for each flavour. GOAL: design super awesome packaging that will pop in the shelves. We are looking for authentic, cool and interesting font options paired with abstract patterns or imagery to represent the flavour. VISIBILITY OF TEXT: Here is the priority of the text on the front of the label: 1. Urkorngrøt (should be the super easy to read, large font) 2. Our logo 3. The name (and illustration or colour) of the flavour Any other text on the front should be kept small so it does not steal focus. STYLE IDEAS: - Playful, clean, minimalistic and natural feel. - Must be unique and lovable. - Can be colourful, but must not look like a kids brand. - Check out some labels we love in the end of the photos section. Feel free to suggest other styles that you see fit, we are open to ideas! NOTE: The lid in the pictures is plain white. I intend to order boxes with lids that are transparent and colored. For example, the lid for mango & sea buckthorn can be transparent yellow with a label on top. I have included an image of the content I want on the label, but its up to each designer how they want to present this content.
What to avoid
- Playful labels are good, but it should not look like a kids brand - No blue & yellow/orange colour combos - Not too many strong colours at once • No generic images that don't tie into the product • No curly fonts or script style (letters joined together). Text must be easy to read • No wheat icons or anything that will make people think of gluten. • Not oriental looking or other cultural feel (should be generic, or possibly nordic)
Please see keyline/dieline in the photos.
