Description of the product
The Works is (usually) a DIY school based in Seattle, WA, teaching a 'little bit of everything,' from cooking to gardening to creative crafts. During Covid-19, we've pivoted to online classes. They've received a good response, but the number one thing people are asking for are kits to accompany the digital content. We want to create a design that we can use across a variety of topics (and potentially slightly differently sized boxes). The classes that we have in development for kits right now are below, with more to come: - bubble tea at home - dutch oven bread - make your own mochi - make your own beeswax wraps - sew your own dinner napkins
Description of the product target audience
Our target audience is primary women (but some men too!) who appreciate the finer things in life but also have an industrious spirit and interest in DIYing. They are generally age 25-45 and middle class. Our current customers are based in Seattle (where our shop is located) but our digital content and these kits have the potential to reach customers nationally .
After much deliberation, I just can't get down with a box inside a box or shrink wrapping for shipping, so I want a nicely designed box that sparks joy, but I also need to slap a shipping label on it. The shipping labels I'm currently using are 6x4 inches. I'm providing my initial thoughts here but I am very OPEN to other ideas and suggestions. For the outside of the box: - I like the box designs that play with the dimensionality of the box, for example with designs that wrap around and change from panel to panel. - The outside of the box needs to have our logo and the saying 'let us bring the DIY to you.' I was thinking this could go on the front flap. For the inside of the box: - I was thinking about having the main panel to say Makers Gonna Make in a hand lettering type of font. - We want to say something like, 'show us your work' Post and tag @theworks.seattle #theworksathome - Then for the other interior panels, I thought it would be rad to make a repeating design of some of the things The Works does along with hearts and stars - succulent, bubble tea, bread, yarn ball, wooden spoon, vegetables, etc. This way the box design works for all of the kits we're going to come up with!
