Someone Eleven got their new product packaging by running a design contest:
Design a minimal simple box package for clothes hangers
Check out Someone Eleven's Product packaging contest…
We are a new company that aims to sell everyday home organisation solutions. Whilst our first product will be premium hangers our future is to provide minimalist home solutions. We would like our minimalism to reflect in our packaging.
What's your vision?
We are looking for a clean, modern and minimalistic boxed package for our first clothes hanger product. We have attached an image of the hanger with the inlaid grip for the trouser bar (the picture shows the inlaid grip in black but ours will be a clear white color). We will be offering it in a 10 pack and a 20 pack box with the following dimensions: 10 pack = 35cm * 35cm * 7cm 20 pack = 35cm * 35cm * 13cm It is a simple box, with the top being the opening area. We would like to use this as a base design and we will be adding more products as we grow so the winning designer will be contacted for future work as well. We will be offering hangers of different type (wide arm, trouser bars, kids hangers etc), different material (wood, metal, plastic) and we also will be offering different colors (natural wood, walnut) and of course different quantities (10 and 20 for this particular product but other products might be different quantities). So please incorporate this in the design. We don't need these new products packaging design yet but we would like a consistent design. We don't currently have a logo yet, but we would like one incorporated in the packaging still. We are only after a very simple minimalistic logo so hopefully its not too hard to design as part of the packaging, I have included some attachments for the type of logos we like. The logo can have a subtitle saying home like below: Minnish -Home- But if this does not look good we can skip the subtitle for the logo. And if an icon can be used, please use an icon of a house. We also want to include some features onto the box incorporated like the back of the keycase packaging (attached below). Those features are: -Swivel hook -Notch design -Inlaid grip for trouser bar We also need to incorporate a bar code and the website www.minnish.com on the bottom of the packaging. I have attached a bunch of designs we also like.
-I have attached two pictures of our hanger product -Then there are a lot of packaging designs we like that we found from 99designs and Google -Finally we attached some simple minimal logos that can be incorporated onto the box

When design entries come in, you can rate them so designers know what you’re looking for in your logo design.
99designs has great collaboration tools so you can pinpoint and capture your ideas
And then… they selected a winner!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
