The Beer Advent Calendar is a corrugated box with the numbers 1-12 on the top, much like a traditional advent calendar. Each number is a flap that opens and the recipient will find a craft beer inside. This will be available exclusively for the Christmas season to both individual consumers and corporate customers.
Description of the product target audience
Our target audience is holiday gift givers, not necessarily beer drinkers. A majority of the purchasers are women, however, they are purchasing for a man. The design should be gender neutral. It may be sent as a corporate gift to white collar workers or from one brother to another. Simplicity is the key to appealing to such a broad audience.
We want an overall festive design with expressions on each side of the box such as 'Happy Holidays', 'Seasons Greetings' and 'Cheers'. The cut-outs at the top of the box need the numbers 1-12. The box should include 3 colors, one is red and another white as this will be the color of the box. The other color is up to the designer. The overall look needs to be appealing to 'corporate' customers as well as individuals who will be receiving the gift, so nothing too extravagant, just a simple design that is appealing to a broad demographic as described in our brief. Google Images has several examples when searching for the term 'beer advent calendar' that follows the basic template we are looking for. The printer specified that the artwork needs to be 'high resolution vector art'. We would like our website included somewhere on the box (http://www.GiveThemBeer.com) but it should not be a focal point.
What to avoid
No religious affiliation. We can't use a phrase like 'Merry Christmas'. Stick with seasonal phrases like Happy Holidays, Seasons Greetings and Cheers.
