Quevos is a super healthy, tasty chip made out of Egg whites. The snack is incredibly rich in protein and low in carbs and calories. We are building off the trend of super healthy snacks gaining popularity, think: RX bar, Halo Top, Skinny Pop. Quevos is made from simple and natural ingredients with the main ingredient being Egg Whites.
Description of the product target audience
People who eat our snack are highly concerned with health and fitness. Our two main target audiences are gym rats/athletes and dieters(Paleo, ketogenic, vegetarian, atkins, etc.) Being that we are working with two very different audiences here, we need the product's aesthetic to be both appealing to weight lifters and yuppie hip dieters.
We are looking for a chip bag that is sleek, simple but jumps off the shelf. The bag should communicate 3 things:
1) That these are chips made of eggs.
2) These chips are super healthy (Bag contains 20g of protein, 100 calories, 2 carbs).
3) These chips are made from simple ingredients.
It is important that the bag is sleek and simple. We have been inspired by the packages of RX bar, Halo Top and Soylent (pictures attached). What all three of these products do is they maintain a eye-catching and simple design while clearly communicating the health benefits of the product. RX bar lists its simple ingredients at the center of the package, Halo top places the calorie count at the center of the product. Similarly we would like the 20 grams of protein and 100 calories to be very prominently featured on the front of our package, if you can also fit the 2 carbs without crowding the package too much that would also be great. The product should look high end yet should look friendly and inviting (feel free to explore with colors and graphics, if you think black is sleekest that works, if you want to explore bright colors for a more inviting look that also works). Experiment with including an egg in the bag design.
What to avoid
Although this is a healthy chip with simple ingredients we want to for the most part to avoid the nature, farm, whole-foods aesthetic. A nature/farm aesthetic would probably not be passed around a gym/locker-room. This is what the designer should have in mind, it has got to appeal to both gym rats and trendy dieters (paleo etc.).
